About Our Service

Our Telecoms and Helpdesk service operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The Switchboard deals with a huge volume of internal and external calls each year, as well as handling paging requests, monitoring of alarms, and issuing of keys.

Our friendly, calm, and professional Switchboard and Helpdesk team provide a streamlined service utilising the latest technology to deliver efficient assistance to patients and staff across multiple sites.

The team also provides an emergency call service, answering, and dispatching of specialist teams in the event of:

  • Medical Emergencies
  • Cardiac Arrest
  • Trauma
  • Fire
  • Obstetric Emergencies
  • Neonatal Cardiac Arrests
  • Paediatric Cardiac Arrests

At Darlington Memorial Hospital the team also acts as the Estates out-of-hours Helpdesk and manages all taxi bookings across the Trust.
